The 8th Annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks was again an unqualified success! We were extremely pleased that the weather was perfect for a night full of music, fun, and of course…FIREWORKS ! The evening began with one of our own members, Kelsey Jeffries, performing her solo act. Kelsey is a talented singer/musician who pleased the crowd with her energetic performance. Next up was the Dennis McClung Blues Band. This local band has a passion for the blues second to none. After a brief intermission the Shinnston Community Band took the stage to a large, enthusiastic crowd. Of course, songs of America was the theme, as several traditional patriotic tunes were combined with an eclectic mix of rock, pop, and swing. Once again the evening concluded with an impressive fireworks display! Thanks to the Shinnston Area Development Association for their generous contribution to this great community evening. Don’t forget that our next rehearsal is to be held on Tuesday, July 15 at 7:00pm at Lincoln High School. As always…BRING A FRIEND TO REHEARSAL.
